This song got its start during a writing workshop at Puget Sound Guitar Workshop. I held onto the idea and finished it up a few months later. Is there any significance to a bottle of wine from 1989? Nope. It just makes a good rhyme. Ain't That a Picture by Michael Alexander with additional lyrics by Sunga Rose A Valentine's day FAWM effort. I was trying to work my way from a G to a Bm. The lyrics were easy at first, then Sunga to the rescue! I Don't Need You Forever by Sunga Rose A tongue-in-cheek bitter country waltz about a woman who's doing just fine on her own. La La by Sunga Rose A one-night stand turns into a long term love. Funny how easy it is to find something in common. Everybody Eats When Mama's Home by Michael Alexander When Sunga goes away, there are a lot of hungry critters. Fortunately, we don't actually have this many mouths to feed, or disappoint. |
Mona by Sunga Rose
A song that came to me in a dream about a fella wandering around the countryside looking for his sweetheart. Spoiler alert: he finds her! Avalon by Michael Alexander A lovely reminiscence of our visit to Catalina Island. I wanted to write a song to show the warm, arid dream we had. Aldwell by Sunga Rose A folk anthem about the removal of the Elwha Dams on the Olympic Peninsula an a farewell song to Lake Aldwell. Ambassador's Wife by Sunga Rose Inspired by the movie, The Ugly American. Check out the movie. Beautiful Lady by Michael Alexander (lyrics) and Neenah DeWolf. A Hawaiian song with translations by a Hawai'ian website. Nina wrote a beautiful instrumental part and it was easy to see the simple poetry. The Jane by Michael Alexander An homage to our friend Jane. For all of the guys who think they're the first ones to say "me Tarzan, you Jane" upon meeting her. And because they do want to be the Tarzan. |
We are so grateful for our families, friends and fans who inspired us to make this album happen. We are also thrilled to have had the chance to work with David & Benjamin Lange at David Lange Studios. Their fine sensibilities and skillful recording and mixing really helped to make this album something that we are very proud of.

And yes, Honeyville is a real place. It's in Utah.
